This pattern was devised by Glen Pointon. It makes and interesting new tie and gives an extra dimension to the fly box.
Materials
Hook – Czech nymph #12
Underbody – Flat lead
Body – Grey squirrel dubbing
Hot spot – Orange nail varnish
Overbody – Silicon sealant
Tying Instructions
Please the hook in the vice and secure the flat lead along the shank of the hook.
Form a dubbing loop and dub the squirrel fur. Secure the thread with a whip finish. Add the hot spot and allow to dry.
Place some sealant in a syringe and run along the top of the fly. Work onto the sides with a dubbing needle.
